ITAA / EXCHANGE REFERENCE

An exchange proposal worth reviewing

Prepare a clear account of the idea before asking someone else to join it.

01

The purpose

Name the artistic subject, intended audience and question the activity would explore. Explain why this format suits the subject. Separate an initial idea from a confirmed programme, exhibition, competition or service.

02

The people and their roles

Identify a proposed organiser, host, contributor and reviewer where relevant. Mark which people have actually agreed. Do not invent speakers, judges, chapters, sponsors, awards or appointments to make an early proposal appear operational.

03

The terms still to settle

List the permissions, selection rules, accessibility arrangements, venue or platform, costs and publication plans that need review. If an exhibition or competition is proposed, ask who approves its rules and handles concerns before inviting entries.

04

The review request

Send a concise summary through a reviewed enquiry draft. Ask who is responsible for deciding suitability and what information is needed next. Preparing or downloading a draft does not submit it, secure a place or approve an activity.
