The idea & its arrangement

A proposed activity needs a clear purpose.

ILLUSTRATIVE CONTEXT / NOT A CONFIRMED EXCHANGE

THE SUBJECT

A considered exhibition or competition proposal

Describe the theme, audience and material a proposed artistic activity would involve. Identify who could authorise a contribution and how selection, attribution and image use might be handled.

No competition, judge, award, ticket or date is confirmed by a proposal. Actual activity needs approved rules, operating responsibility, permissions, fees where relevant and a clear concern-handling process.

WHAT THE CONVERSATION NEEDS

A sharper question.
A clearer boundary.

  1. What is the proposed artistic question?
  2. Who has actually agreed to participate?
  3. What rules and permissions still need review?

FROM AN IDEA TO AN ARRANGEMENT

01

Make the context visible

Explain your actual contribution, place of practice and intended audience. Keep private client information out of a general proposal.

02

Agree the terms

Ask who reviews the proposal and what permissions, format, costs and publication arrangements apply. No activity is scheduled by submitting a draft.

03

Keep a useful record

Agree how contributions are attributed and what may be retained or shared. A discussion is not a professional credential or practical authorisation.
